Laura Kaufman serves as Chief Operating Officer of CDHIP and was formerly Executive Vice President and Global Head of Life Sciences for Thor Equities with responsibility for its 2 million SF portfolio including real property acquisitions, leasing, development and asset management In the US and Europe.

Kaufman previously served as Vice President and Market Lead for BioMed Realty, a Blackstone portfolio company, where she was responsible for expanding investments in the New York region.  She successfully drove portfolio optimization and expansion strategies including ground-up development, leasing, asset management, and operating efficiencies to triple net operating income and facilitated a successful sale of the $1 billion portfolio.

Kaufman began her real estate career as a portfolio manager at Bank of America and later deployed this financial knowledge across the leadership of other strategies, including the redevelopment of the Winchester Arms Science Park in New Haven, CT, adjacent to Yale University, for Lyme Properties, a pioneer in the formulation of the life science real estate asset class.

Her accomplishments total $15 billion of value creation for life science, medical office, retail, and flex/industrial assets for private investors and public REITs through opportunistic and value-added investments.

She earned her M.S. from New York University in New York, NY, in Real Estate Development and holds a B.S. from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, with a concentration in architecture and design.
